Defiance's Zarembski Earns ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Honors

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Brad Zarembski has been named ESPN The Magazine Second-Team Academic All-America. The honor is voted on and announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The award comes on the heels of Zarembski being named First-Team Academic All-District IV for the second-straight year and follows his Third-Team Academic All-America honor from one year ago. Nine HCAC Athletes Attend NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference

GREENWOOD , IN – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently had nine athletes represented at the annual NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference held in Lake Buena Vista , Fla. Defiance College's Anthony Brown (Men's Basketball) and Ben Gates (Baseball) , Hanover College's Shawna McLetchie (Cross Country) and Joe Vormohr (Football) , Manchester College's Korey Bucher (Track and Field) and Karla Conrad (Volleyball) , Transylvania University's Sara Escobedo (Women's Golf) and Katie Kelly (Women's Soccer) , and Anderson University's Courtney Smith-Powell (Women's Basketball) were nine of only 185 Division III student-athletes selected to attend the event.
The annual NCAA National Student-Athlete Development Conference provides NCAA student-athletes with a forum to openly discuss issues that may affect them on their campuses...Full Story
Defiance's Zarembski and Higdon Named Track and Field ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District

GREENWOOD, IN – Defiance College's Brad Zarembski (Toledo, Ohio / Springfield ) and Samantha Higdon (Waldron, Ind. /H.S.) have all been selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Track and Field First team. It is the second straight year the two have earned the recognition.
Zarembski is a Business Administration major, posting a 3.89 grade point average. He placed first at the HCAC meet in the high jump with a leap of 2.04 meters, earning a spot on the All-HCAC Track and Field team. The junior finished 11 th at the NCAA championships with a jump of 2.03 meters...Full Story
Rose-Hulman's Bilse Named Second-Team

TERRE HAUTE, IN -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior outfielder Andrew Bilse (Munster) earned second-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American honors, in results released today by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Bilse becomes the 82nd Academic All-American in Rose-Hulman athletics history. At least one Rose-Hulman student-athlete has earned Academic All-American honors for the last 24 years, the sixth longest streak among all NCAA Division I, II or III institutions...Full Story
