Lions' Sophomore Pitcher Steve Matre Selected D3baseball.com First Team All-American

CINCINNATI, OH - Mount pitcher Steve Matre (Cincinnati, OH/Purcell Marian) has been selected to the D3baseball.com All-America First team. Matre, a right-handed reliever, was 0-1 with 10 saves and a 0.84 ERA this past season. In 32 innings, Matre allowed only 17 hits, three earned runs, one walk and had 39 strikeouts.
Matre was one of four pitchers selected to the First Team. The All-American team consists of three teams plus honorable mention and was voted on by D3baseball.com staff, contributors and Sports Information Directors from more than 550 nominations.
