Franklin's Rupp Named Men's HCAC Player of the Month

GREENWOOD , IN - Franklin College 's Chad Rupp (Evansville , Ind. /Memorial) has been named September's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Player of the Month. The senior quarterback has helped guide the Grizzlies to a 3-1 mark to start the season and a 1-0 record in conference play.

Rupp led the Grizzlies to a 2-1 mark through the month of September, completing 61.8% of his passes for 1,005 yards and 10 touchdowns. The senior quarterback ranked fifth nationally among Division III players in passing yards per game (335.0), ninth in total offense (321.0), and 32 nd in passing efficiency (154.0) through the month of September.

The Evansville , Indiana native earned the HCAC Player of the Week award for his performance in Franklin 's win at Butler University on September 13. In the 31-28 win, Rupp completed 29 of his 47 pass attempts for 394 yards and three touchdowns. Two of the three touchdowns came in the second half, helping secure the win for the blue and gold.

In September, the senior quarterback led the HCAC in passing yards, total offense, passing efficiency, and touchdowns.

Chad is the second Franklin male athlete to win the HCAC Player of the Month award and is the third football player ever to receive the honor.

The HCAC Player of the Month award is in its fourth year of existence. The award is voted on by the sports information directors of each member institution.
