Rose-Hulman's Bueltel Named Men's HCAC Player of the Month

GREENWOOD, IN - Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's Calvin Bueltel (Huntingburg , Ind. /Southridge) has been named October's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Player of the Month. The junior running back helped guide the Engineers to a 4-0 mark during the month of October and a 7-2 overall record.

Bueltel led RHIT to a 4-0 conference mark through the month of October. The junior rushed for more than 100 yards in each game during the month and totaled 562 yards and nine touchdowns. At the end of October, Rose-Hulman was 7-1 on the season, which is its best start in 21 years. Bueltel ranked among the national leaders in all-purpose yards per game (150.38), rushing yards per game (117.75), and scoring (9.75 ppg) at the end of the month.

The Huntingburg, Indiana native earned the HCAC Player of the Week award for his performance in Rose-Hulman's win at Hanover College on October 11. In the 44-33 win, Bueltel rushed for 167 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries against the Panther defense.

In October, the junior running back averaged 6.3 yards per carry and 140.5 rushing yards per game.

Calvin is the third Rose male athlete to win the HCAC Player of the Month award and is the fourth football player ever to receive the honor.

The HCAC Player of the Month award is in its fourth year of existence. The award is voted on by the sports information directors of each member institution.
