Engineers Fight Back on Homecoming to Defeat Spartans

TERRE HAUTE, IN – Rose-Hulman held on to first place in the HCAC football standings with a 35-31 come from behind victory over Manchester (2-2, 0-1 HCAC) Saturday . The Engineers (4-1, 2-0 HCAC) trailed 31-21 heading into the fourth quarter on Homecoming before Derek Eitel (Marshall, Ill./H.S.) tossed two touchdowns to lead RHIT to the win.
Eitel completed 19 of his 24 passes for 245 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Engineer offense. Hanover Claims Regular Season Women's Tennis HCAC Crown

TERRE HAUTE, IN- Hanover College's women's tennis team wrapped up the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's regular-season championship with a 5-4 victory against the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The Panthers' HCAC finale was played, Saturday, Oct. 4, in Terre Haute, Ind.
Hanover posted wins in two of the three opening doubles matches, then claimed victories in three singles matches to earn the Panthers' first league crown since 2001. TERRE HAUTE , IN – This Saturday will mark the true beginning of the 2008 conference football season as action gets in full swing. One conference game was played last week, when Rose-Hulman surprised Mount St. Joseph , 27-21 in Cincinnati . This Saturday, all eight teams will take part in HCAC conference tilts.

CINCINNATI , OH – Rose-Hulman pulled out a thrilling 27-21 win on the road against Mount St. Joseph in the Heartland Conference football opener Saturday night. The win was the Engineers' first win over the Mount in seven tries and was the first Rose win in a league opener since the 2003 season.

Mount St. Joseph Welcomes Rose-Hulman for HCAC Opener

CINCINNATI , OH – The College of Mount St. Joseph (2-0, 0-0 HCAC) will welcome Rose-Hulman (2-1, 0-0 HCAC) to Schueler Field for the 2008 HCAC opener for both schools Saturday evening. The Mount will recognize the efforts of the program's first head coach, John Pont, who passed away during this past summer.

Keith Crawford Named Rose-Hulman Swimming & Diving Coach

TERRE HAUTE, IN -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has named Keith Crawford as the fourth head men's and women's swimming and diving coach in school history, effective October 6.
Crawford comes to Rose-Hulman after six seasons at NCAA Division III Monmouth College in Illinois. He earned Men's Coach of the Year honors in the Midwest Conference in 2007 and 2008 after leading the team to second-place finishes...Full Story
Volleyball Squads Prepare to Play for a Cause

GREENWOOD , IN - As the 2008 women's volleyball season heads into conference action, many of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference school's turn their attention to a more important matter. During September and October, all nine HCAC schools will take part in a “Dig for a Cure” Night to help raise funds benefiting the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer research or local foundations.
Bluffton University was the first HCAC school to hold an event this season as the Beavers played host to Oberlin on September 10. The two schools raised over $2,400 for cancer research during the event...Full Story
